Well, this may seem a little out of left field but I have decided to quit xanga for good.  I've been thinking about it for a while and came to the conclusion that it's just not possible for me to keep up reading everyone's subscriptions, I'm bored with it, and I want to go back to writing in a REAL journal.  By real I mean not online...a real honest to God paper journal.  I remember thinking as I packed my 5 other journals a few weeks ago that I used to write much more in high school.  I never really write anymore unless it's for school or for this online journal.  I miss writing my stories, poetry, and mundane activities.  I miss claiming that I used to be a writer.  I want to put my english degree to good use again.

I've met some interesting people on xanga and for that I'm very thankful.  I would love to continue to coorespond with these people still via email, Dallendria@aol.com, and everyone is still welcome to email or IM me on AIM.  Thank you for the up and down ride and for allowing me to be a part of your lives.  I don't regret any of my past actions though I wish in a few circumstances I would have handled myself more maturely.  Overall though, it was a wonderful learning experience and it'll be nice to close this chapter in my life.

God Bless.

And now the moment you've all been waiting for!!!COMIC CON 2003!!!!

OH MY GOD.  Let me first by saying it was the most incredibly experience I have ever done.  Now that I know the ropes and what to do next year will be twice as  much fun...especially since we're gonna go for the 4 days instead of one day.

Without further ado...here are the pictures:

people on dialup please be somewhat patient..some pictures are higher quality that others and make take longer to load.

Chrissy and I got there at about 9:30 in the morning.  We met a really nice guy on the trolly who was a volunteer there.  He was giving us tips on what to see and whatnot.  He flew in from St.Charleston ONLY to go to this event so we knew that this event had to be nothing short of awesome.

We were saddened to learn once we arrived that we had to wait 2 hours in a line that was over a mile long.  Serves us right for not buying tickets in advance I suppose.  Ironically enough, I've always wanted to see Seaport village and I saw more than enough while we were waiting hahaha.  Finally, after two hours of roughing it we were in.

It was astounding.  Thousands of fans dressed in full costume were walking around, various celebrities were at certain booths signing autographs and meeting fans, special features and movies were being shown in multiple auditoriums.  There was so much to do and see and so little time to get it done.

I really wanted to see Elfquest  but alas could not find the booth with Wendy and Richard Pini there.  ::pouting:: The key event of the day was the Lord of the Rings event.  We got in line early (and still barely made it in) and entered a huge auditorium with a large stage and 3 TV monitors up high so we could see in the back.  Newline gave us a behind the scene look at the next movie, demontrated making the weapons for the movie, and showed us the costumes on stage.  Then of course...the actors came out and everyone freaked out.  Merry, Gollum, Sam, and Frodo respectively.  Then Sir Ian Mckellan, Peter Jackman, and Billy Boyd appeared via satellite since they were still finishing up a few scenes for the return of the king.  But it was great being able to see the actors in person!  Merry, or Dominic, is a VERY HOTT guy let me tell you haha.  the pictures I took just don't do any of them any justice.  Next year, I'm being a video camera for sure.

After that we spent the next few hours looking at the huge comic stands and booths downstairs.  Once we started to get worn out (between 6-7) we hopped on the trolly and came back home.  What an exciting day though.

Overall, I give this an A+ evaluation.  I highly recommend everyone going nxt year for the 4 days since there is just not enough time in one day and there's A LOT of walking to do.  Enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think!!

Last night was friggen AWWWEEEESOME!!!  After Amy and I got off work the three of us (my sister is here remember hehe) went over to good ol' Aesop's Tables in La jolla.  Yummy yummy...oh so good.  Chrissy hasn't had Greek food before (poor child) so it was cool introducing it to her.  Then we went over to the AMC theatre to go watch the Pirates movie.  Geee....can you guess how much I loved it??  Oh Orlando how much I adore thee..."just give me 30 seconds to do my thing baby...that's all I need."  What a hottie.  Then we proceeded to blast Rammstein in the volvo and roll all the windows down since it was a gorgeous San Diego night.  That was humerous right there.  I don't know how much more "white" we could have gotten.  Driving a swedish car, blasting German music, and Amy's oh-so-pale leg that she displayed proudly ::grinning:: it was incredibly funny.  We parked the volvo at the apartment and hopped into Amy's gorgeous Integra to blast some more music and pick up Boba tea.

Wow.  Amy shouldn't have handed me the keys.  Man, I didn't realize how much I enjoyed driving stick till last night.  Super fun, though I think Amy's car needs a pair of strut bars right aims? ::winking:: it's a quick little car though...a definite nice change from the heavy Eclipse.  Sheesh.  After picking up the Boba tea we proceeded to end the night with a little bit of old school fun directed towards our old high school friend...Dave.  Since he conveniently lives right down the street from my cousin in La Jolla we were able to put on our "stealth mode" and parked right in front of his place.  Then a few seconds later we blasted Rammstein REALLY LOUD, I revved the car a few times, and did a massive peelout in front of his place.  hahahahahaha....oh man it was great.  I'm sure he didn't appreciate it though but oh well.  We used to do stuff like this all the time to each other in Stockton so it's a very old, dare I say ancient, tradition.  You had to have been there to understand.

Right now it's raining due to the stupid hurricane Claudette over Texas.  Hopefully it'll let up some when we go to the beach tonight.  Rain or Shine we're still going...but it'd be more of a pain with the rain.  and on saturday DUN DUN DUN....COMIC CON!!!!  Hella celebs are gonna be there too..Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, HUGH JACKMAN ::drooling:: so I'm definitely takin' my camera.  Man I can't wait!!!

Short and Sweet.  Picked up my sister from the airport last night and had caramel apples while we watched futurama and Family guy on cartoon network.  Good times ahead heehee...

Tonight...Pirates of the Caribbean and some greek food with Amy!  YAARGH MAAATIE!!

I want to paint ariel green and take her with me so bad ::laughing::  and buy her a little eyepatch and two wooden legs ('cause that'd just be wrong/funny) and teach her to say YAAARG hella loud when it's quiet in the theatre.  ::siiiighs::  man, I have problems.

well back to class was definitely interesting.  Ironically enough, my Children's literature class has more assignments then my US literature 1960-present class.  Go figure, neh?  I like both classes immensely though.  Maybe it's because the reading is AWESOME, or maybe it's because I don't have to take that wildlife class anymore, or my soil class right Keesha ::grinning::  But yeah, right now we're reading J.D Salinger's Nine Stories (same guy who wrote Catcher in the Rye which I also bought to read), the good ol' Norton anthology of poetry, Twelve Princesses, and we start on Harry potter next week.  I'm also reading "100 years of solitude" for my Independant study class.  it's taking me a while because it's a translated story (and also 500 pages) so I'm going slow to make sure I don't miss anything.

It's also 7:45 and I'm at work right now.  Yup...I work 8-11 mon-thu then all day friday.  Joy.  I just have to keep telling myself that I only have to this job till the end of August and I'm done FOREVER.

I also have a couple of job prospects that I'm looking into.  Both are media related ventures.  I have to contact the GM of a popular radio station in Sacramento today (and yet I can't remember what station it is HA) to see if I can come in for an interview on the 25th, and I have an interview for ch.3 in Sacramento as well that day.  They are both sales assistant positions, fulltime w/benefits.  I'll be making pretty good money if I get one of these jobs and it'll get me out of working retail temporarily which I loathe.  I love working with people, but I despise customer service. Mainly because people are so rude and I don't have the patience to deal with them.  Now, if I was making 40K a year I could put up with it for a while...but not a measly 12-15K a year.  Geez.  Anyways, hopefully I'll get in touch with the GM today and work something out.

My futon went in beautifully.  It took me 2 hours to put the damn thing together but I eventually did it.  Hey I'm not exactly fast at putting furniture together but so long as I have the instructions and a few tools I can do it...slowly but surely.  Remember Ikea Amy?  God I still can't believe we hauled that crap upstairs hahaha...

The rest of this week will be awesome though.  My sister is flying in tomorrow evening (yeah!), Amy Chrissy and I are seeing the Pirate movie thursday evening (ooooh Orlando...can I just put these elf ears on you for just a second and lick---okay stopping now), friday after I get off work I'm taking Chrissy to Mission Bay for some arcade/beach going/rollarcoaster/lazer tag action hehe and then all day saturday the long awaited COMIC CONVENTION!!!  wooohooo!  I can't wait to go...it sounds like so much fun.  Chrissy and I will be most of the time in the anime section but I'm sure I'll venture into the Elfquest/Xmen/LOTR area for a while too hehe...

Wow, it's 8am time for workie pooh.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day and if anyone read this all the way through..uhm...sorry??  hahaha...take care!
